Importing Obj. (LOD1or2) in Rhino6 as a single mesh

Dear GeoForum community,

I would like to import a tile of the 3D BAG dataset as a single mesh per building in Rhino6 (LOD1 or LOD2).
Currently, when I import the files, I get each building divided into 3 separate meshes (Roof in red, Building body in yellow and ground in grey).

Rejoining manually each building is time-consuming and can lead to mistakes (I am working on a the district level).
Is there a way to directly get a single mesh per building while importing the files?

Thank you!

Hi, I’m having the same challanges
Maybe Meshlab can be helpful to optimize face definitions.
I’n not a expert it this software though. Looking for ways…

Hello halam

thanks for your reply! I did not use Meshlab before either… Can give it a try!
Please let me know if you find anything, that would be very helpful!!

You’re welcome. Maybe Blender could help also, direct import of ciityjson. But the struggle is the same, whatever you use. The meshes are very, very big. How do we organize this ‘downstream’ and make it work? With certain specialized excisting 3D CAD tools? Procedures? Post processing? The great unknown, to me

The picture: Lod 1.2 is the surface in ‘3D basisregistratie’ that maybe contains a bit of noise. But i can’t rule out that it may be the software. Like 3D BAG a webbased ‘3D basisregistratie’ viewer would make a nice development.
